SMILE TWIN E-LEARNING PROJECT

The concept
The Smile Twin e-Learning Project is designed to create employability by equipping the under privileged adolescent youths, residing in urban locations, in marketable skills like English and Computer for which there is increasing demand in services sectors particularly services sectors-retail outlets, BPOs etc. The project envisages a partnership model wherein the cost of project is shared between Smile Foundation and Partner organization.
The STeP project is implemented in 40 centers in various locations across the country. Our center is one of them among the 40 centers. STeP project is implemented in partnership with Smile Foundation, New Delhi and supported by U&N Foundation, UPS Foundation, and Asset Foundation. The project is also collaborating for some academic partners like International Management Institute (IMI), Busy InfoTech Pvt. Ltd. Etc.
SLAJUS is tie up with some placement agency for employment of our students in Retail, BPO, Hospitality and service sectors also. During the year 45 under privileged youths were benefited from STeP project.

Skills Training
The STeP project is provide following skill building training on following area.

Major Focus on

  • Computer skills
  • English language

Sub Focus

  • Basic management including retail management skill.
  • Personality Development. Leadership quality development and carrier opportunity and counseling,
  • Conduct seminars on various social issues and HIV AIDs

Beneficiary & Criteria of the programme

  • Higher secondary (class 12) passed adolescents (15+);
  • Children of single parent (women), Commercial sex workers (CSWs), children of HIV/AIDS affected parents, children coming from low family income;

Bright, enterprising, ambitious with certain knowledge/ awareness about state of affairs; and able to pay some token fees (amount to be ascertained) for the training.


LIVILIHOOD PROGRAMME FOR TRIBAL WOMENS

We know the detail status of the tribal women’s and necessity to society of their development. We are working for the socio economic development of poor tribal women’s in kandhamal district, particularly in Tikabali, Raikia, Daringbadi and Tumudibandha Blocks. SLAJUS is forming groups among the women’s in villages as SHGs.

The tribal women’s are very poor but hard labouring. Their contribution in family is very high than other members. They have committed to doing something for their family but no way to express due to illiterate and lack of facility and information. In this regards SLAJUS is organized training programmes, awareness programmes for their livelihood development. SLAJUS is working with based on local resources available. We are put our inputs to their socio economic through the proper management of local resources and SLAJUS is get satisfied result from tribal women’s i.e. they have increase their daily earning and having changed their standard of living.

SLAJUS is implemented a project “Economic Empowerment of Tribal Women in Kandhamal District” successfully. This project was implemented with the assistance of “Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology” (CAPART) (A Central Government Autonomous Body under the aegis of Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India).
